What is type A positive and O positive?
Type A positive blood:
- Can receive blood from: A+, A-, O+ and O-.
- Can donate blood to: A+ and AB+.
Type O positive blood:
- Can receive blood from: O+ and O-.
- Can donate blood to: A+, B+, AB+ and O+.
Type A positive blood is the second most common blood type in the United States, after type O positive. Type O positive is the most common blood type overall, found in about 37% of the population.
