Office Recycling Products

Many companies, universities and organizations start recycling programs to save the earth and to save time and money. Employees taking part in recycling appreciate ease and money-saving aspects built into the program. Recycling cans and bottles should be as easy as tossing the object into a recycling bin. Recycling office equipment and furniture is a little more difficult, but in terms of money saving, it is a worthwhile venture.
  1. Furniture

    • Companies and organizations comprised of several offices often recycle or reuse furniture. In some companies or universities there are warehouses or storage facilities set aside where a person may choose from office furniture that is no longer being used to set up a new office or add to an existing one. This furniture is sometimes free, but if it comes with a price, it is almost always far less expensive than buying new. Furniture that is refurbished, refinished or repainted can look almost new if the workmanship is good.

    Office Machines

    • Many offices recycle computers, fax machines and copiers. They send non-working machinery to be repaired, refurbished and stored until it is needed. In buildings where there are a lot of companies with offices, there is sometimes an organization within the building that manages the program for the convenience of all the building's occupants. This type of program is especially ideal for machinery that does not quickly become obsolete. In many areas there are organizations that provide this service to a wide population.

    Office Supplies

    • Most offices go through many office supplies such as print cartridges every month, and recycling them is part of many companies' recycling programs. There are recycling bins on the market specifically for toner cartridges. The bins are designed so that the cartridges will not fall to the bottom and break. Recycling print cartridges saves a lot of money over time.

    Signage and Convenience

    • A good recycling program will have bins that are centrally located and have signage and lids that make recycling convenient and easy. Most recycling bins on the market come with a choice of lid types that can be exchanged according to what is to be collected in the bin. The bins are often made of only recycled and recyclable products, and are attractive enough to fit with office décor. Ideally they will have a place where the company can place a sign to tell what items are to be placed in the bin.
