How to Volunteer to Help With Oil Cleanup
Oil spills are disastrous for the environment, the animals and even for mankind. Volunteers are needed anytime there is an oil spill. Sometimes figuring out how to be a volunteer to help with the cleanup effort can be difficult. Fortunately, many of the Gulf states have volunteer programs in place that go into action the moment a cleanup effort is needed. Being registered with one of these agencies in advance will help to ensure that you are contacted when a disaster strikes.Instructions

1
Navigate to your local volunteer agency of choice's homepage. If you don't live near the coast but would like to help out you can also navigate to the National Wildlife Federation or National Audubon Society, which are national organizations always looking for volunteers.
-
2
Click on the "Response" page from the home page. If there is an oil spill cleanup effort in place, you can volunteer your services straight from there.

3
Register with the volunteer service to provide your time and skills in the event of an emergency. This will allow you to be notified when something is going on that you can help with. Organizations will also allow you to donate your boat's service to help with the cleanup effort on the sea.
