The proper disposal of all PVC materials, including PVC and PVA glue, requires care and caution to keep yourself and others safe.

  Put on protective clothing whenever handling PVC glue. You will need to wear an apron, boots, gloves and in poorly ventilated spaces, breathing devices. All of your protective wear must be fit for handling hazardous waste.

  Isolate the areas exposed to the glue so it doesn't get spread around. If any glue should spill out or end somewhere it doesn't belong, neutralize it immediately by covering it with sand.

  Collect any waste glue that requires disposal into a large waste drum including spills that have been neutralized. Make sure the drum is clearly labeled as containing hazardous waste.

  Add sand on top of each collection of glue in the drum to decontaminate it. Make sure the lid to the drum is securely closed after each addition of glue and sand.

  Contact a hazardous-waste disposal company to come pick up your drum when it is full. The contents of the drum will be taken to a safe incinerator and processed for disposal there.
