How to Use a Fluke Carbon Monoxide Meter

The Fluke Carbon Monoxide Meter detects the presence of carbon monoxide, and measures the concentration between 1--1000 parts per million. The meter indicates a carbon monoxide presence in two ways -- by a PPM reading on the LCD screen -- and with a beeper tone that gets faster, as the concentration levels rise. After the concentration levels rise to 200 PPM, the beeper sounds in a constant tone. As the concentration grows higher, the frequency gets higher. The Fluke Carbon Monoxide Meter is as easy to use as pressing a button.

Instructions

    • 1

Make sure the meter battery is fully charged. Turn the Fluke Carbon Monoxide Meter on, by pressing the green power button. The meter will beep twice and perform a self test. Once the meter passes the self test, it will begin monitoring.

    • 2

Establish a baseline. The meter uses a baseline reading to compare other environments. Turn on the meter. If it reads between 0 -- 3 PPM of CO, the meter has established a new baseline. If it detects more than 3 PPM of CO, it will not establish a baseline, but it will continue monitoring.

Move into the area that you would like monitored. Watch the LCD screen to see the level of carbon monoxide concentration. Listen to the speed of the beeping noise, to hear the concentration level, as it is raises and lowers.
