How to Recycle Tungsten
Instructions
-
-
1
Gather together any jewelry or metal items that you believe contain tungsten. Some wedding bands and rings are made with tungsten.
-
2
Contact a local jeweler if you are in possession of tungsten jewelry. You may be able to trade in or trade up for another piece of jewelry at your local jewelry store, and may actually be able to sell it for more than the scrap price at a local recycling location.
-
3
Call your local recycling stations and scrap-metal buyers. They will be able to tell you the going rate of tungsten scrap and may be able to quote you over the phone as to the approximate value of your tungsten recyclables.
-
4
Visit the scrap location and bring your tungsten scrap. They will be able to determine the worth and value of your tungsten scrap, and may be able to buy it from you. They will then, in turn, recycle the tungsten by melting it down to create a more pure form for reuse.
