Symptoms of a Propane Gas Leak
Propane gas is used for furnaces, fireplaces, generators and other appliances. According to the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), propane gas is used by more than 14 million families. It is cleaner and more efficient, but if it leaks it can be lethal. The symptoms of a gas leak are not always obvious. Therefore, being aware of what to look for is imperative.-
Smell it

Although gas is odorless, a chemical that smells like rotten eggs is added to it. A gas smell that is long lasting is a symptom of a gas leak. As an extra measure, it's wise to purchase a gas detector that sounds an alarm.
Hear it

If there is a leak, you may hear an odd hissing sound near a gas connection. The sound will continue until the leak is repaired.

Apply thick soapy water to the gas connection. Bubbles will form if there is s leak. Also, propane gas is heavier than air and can create a dense white fog over a pipeline along with dead or discolored vegetation surrounding the pipeline. Flames are an obvious sign.
