How to Recycle Epson Cartridges

Epson produces inkjet and toner cartridges for use in Epson brand equipment. Through Epson Recycling Programs, you can send used or defective Epson brand inkjet cartridges or Epson AcuLaser CX11N Series toner cartridges back to Epson for recycling. If you have a different type of cartridge or prefer to recycle locally, many office and computer supply stores accept Epson cartridges for recycling and some even offer immediate discounts, cash back or membership rewards for recycling.

  1. Epson Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program

    • 1

      Wrap your inkjet cartridges in plastic bags to prevent the cartridges from leaking during shipment.

      Insert the cartridges in a cardboard shipping box. Place packing materials around the cartridges, such as packing peanuts or paper. Seal the box with clear packaging tape.

      Ship the cartridges to the mailing address on the Epson Recycling Program information page (see Resources.)

    Epson Toner Cartridge Recycling Program

      Wrap your AcuLaser CX11N Series toner cartridges in plastic bags to prevent toner from leaking during shipment.

      Insert the cartridges in a cardboard shipping box. Place packing materials around the cartridges, such as packing peanuts or paper. Seal the box with clear packing tape.

      Click the Epson Toner Recycle Request Form webpage link (see Resources).

      Enter your contact information in the "Tell us about yourself" section. Select your toner product number, cartridge capacity and cartridge color from the corresponding drop-down menus in the "Tell us about your toner cartridge" section. Select whether you want Epson to send you future marketing and other emails, and click the "Submit" button. The next screen should confirm that the system sent a request and that Epson will contact you soon to send you an electronic prepaid shipping label.

      Print out the label when your receive it. Affix the label to your box with clear packing tape.

      Ship the cartridges to Epson.

    Local Recycling

      Wrap your inkjet or toner cartridges in plastic bags. Place the cartridges in a box.

      Contact several local retail office and computer supply stores and ask about inkjet and toner cartridge recycling programs and any rewards or cash back benefits.

      Take the box of cartridges to an office or computer supply store that recycles ink and toner cartridges.

      Give the box of cartridges to the customer service representative who accepts cartridges for recycling. Sign up for any required programs. If you are a member of the store's rewards programs, show the representative your membership card, or give your name and phone number.
