How to Preserve Food in Green Bags
Green bags preserve the freshness of produce. Flowers, fruit and vegetables release a gas called ethylene, which moves the ripening process along. Once a product has become ripe, however, it continues to release ethylene. This is why produce rots or becomes overripe. Green bags slow down the release of ethylene and also absorb some of the released gas.Instructions

1
Organize the produce you'd like to store in green bags. One type of fruit, vegetable or flower should be delegated to one green bag. Don't mix different types of produce in one green bag--they all have different ripening speeds.
-
2
Place as much of your fruit, vegetable or flower in the green bag as possible. Leave room to twist the top of the bag and tie with a rubber band or knot.

3
Refrigerate the green bag filled with produce.
