Fitting Instructions for Ear Muffs
People who work in environments with noise levels loud enough to damage hearing usually wear ear muffs to protect against hearing loss. For ear muffs to provide adequate protection, they must fit over the ears properly and tightly. Fit ear muffs over your ears with the headband extending over the top of your head, around the back of your head or beneath your chin for a secure and protective ear muff fit.Instructions

1
Open the ear muffs out so the ear cups are ready to place on your ears. If the ear muffs fold, unfold them carefully, according to manufacturer instructions, and arrange the ear muffs so the ear cups extend down from the headband and the ear muffs are ready to wear.
-
2
Arrange your hair back away from your ears, if necessary, to expose your ears cleanly without any hair hanging in front, over or close behind them.
-
3
Pull the ear cups apart gently to allow you to slip the ear muffs onto your head. Slide the ear muffs over your head with the head band in the place you will wear it: over your head, behind your head or under your chin. Position both ear cups over your ears, making sure you center the ear cups directly over your ears.
-
4
Press the ear cups firmly over your ears to create a seal. Make sure no hair falls between the ear muffs and the skin around your ears.
-
5
Adjust the headband snugly over your head, behind your head or under your chin. Most headbands have a design that allows you to push it down snugly onto your head to make it tighter or pull it away from your head to make it looser. Make the headband snugly tight but not uncomfortable.
