How to Recycle Old Shower Curtains
Can you really recycle or find a second-hand use for everything --even an old shower curtain? Sure you can. An old shower curtain can be used for all kinds of interesting things around the house, the shop and even out in the yard. From the kids to the dads and the moms, there's a simple project for everyone in the house.Instructions

Take your old shower curtains outside to the garage or garden. Cover your woodpile outdoors with the old shower curtain, or fill it with raked up leaves and tree limbs for easy pickup. Tie it over your grill, or spread it over a table when you pot plants. Cover plants during a cold snap or kill weeds by leaving them covered up. Lay it down for a weed barrier, put it inside your fish pond or fountain as a liner, or use it as a place to sit or kneel when you work or play outside.

Use an old shower curtain on your next family camping trip. Put one under the tent and sleeping bags or as a waterproof cover for picnic tables. You can also use one as a makeshift beach bag for wet clothing. Take it on picnics when hiking for a blanket or as an emergency rain cover. Cut old curtains in two and tape them together lengthwise for an instant slip and slide for kids when traveling. Lay an old shower curtain under your beach blanket and towels to cut down on sand in the fibers of the fabrics.

Save up several for all the uses you'll find around the house. Cut bigger holes and fit the curtain into a window as insulation in the winter. Use shower curtains to sew baby bibs--as big as you want them--or make a liner for a diaper bag.

Make indoor crafts or projects. Build a rainy day indoor fort for the kids, make sturdy book covers for school books or cut the shower curtain down to make a liner for cat beds, dog beds or kid's beds. Use shower curtains this way when older people are sick and cleanups would be difficult on mattresses. You can also cover up a sofa if you're leaving a pet alone in the house, or make a quick and easy apron by cutting it out and tying it on for a messy project.
