How to Recycle a Phone Book

Communities are finding new ways to use and recycle unused or outdated phone books. If you are not currently recycling, this is a great way to start. A few minutes of your time is all it takes to create a healthier community and environment.

  Contact your current recycling company for information regarding their phone book recycling policies. Determine when your recycling company picks up or accepts old phone books. In some areas, this is unnecessary because they pick up phone books for recycling all year long. However, some centers accept the books only during certain times of the year, usually after new phone books have arrived.

  Place your old phone book in your recycling bin or bag or pick-up. Your trash removal company or recycling company will take your old phone book along with your newspapers or other paper recycling.

  Find a recycling center near you if you have missed your phone book pick-up dates. You can drop off your old phone books in the designated areas for recycling.
