How to Bandage a Heel
Your heels take a beating. Whether you suffer from warts, fungal irritation or blisters, rubbing a wounded heel against the back of your shoes makes any injury all the more excruciating. Examine the skin on your heel and you'll notice the thin, more delicate layers of skin are different from the callused, rough patches on the balls and pads of your feet. Bandaging your heels alleviates existing injuries and prevents future ones from occurring. Proper bandaging technique allows movement between your heel and shoe without causing friction.Things You'll Need

1
Wash the blister or injured heel skin with warm water and a pea-sized amount of antibacterial soap. Rinse the soap clean with warm water. Cleaning the heel skin surface removes bacteria and other harmful germs that aggravate the condition and cause infection.
-
2
Pat the heel dry with a clean paper towel or a clean, dry cloth towel. Tape and gauze adhere more securely to dry skin.
-
3
Spread a pea-sized amount of antibacterial ointment on the injured skin to promote healing and reduce infection.
-
4
Place two or three squares of clean gauze over the entire injured area so that it covers ointment-treated skin.
-
5
Apply medical tape around the perimeter of the gauze to secure the position and reduce friction.
