What are the first aid signs of life?

The first aid signs of life are:

* Breathing: Look for chest movement or listen for breath sounds.

* Pulse: Feel for a pulse in the neck or wrist.

* Pupils: Check to see if the pupils are reactive to light.

* Verbal responsiveness: Try to get the person to respond verbally by shouting their name or asking them a question.

If any of these signs are absent, it is important to call 911 or emergency medical services immediately.

While waiting for help to arrive, you can perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) to try to keep the person alive. CPR involves giving chest compressions and rescue breaths.

To perform CPR, follow these steps:

1. Place the person on their back on a firm surface.

2. Kneel next to the person and place the heel of one hand on the center of their chest, between the nipples.

3. Place your other hand over the first hand and interlace your fingers.

4. Position your shoulders directly over your hands and lock your elbows.

5. Give 30 chest compressions at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute.

6. Push the chest down 2-3 inches (5-7 cm) on each compression and allow it to recoil.

7. After giving 30 chest compressions, give 2 rescue breaths.

8. To give a rescue breath, pinch the person's nose and cover their entire mouth with your mouth.

9. Give two slow, steady breaths, allowing the chest to rise and fall with each breath.

10. Repeat cycles of 30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths until the person starts breathing, help arrives, or you are too exhausted to continue.
