How to Put Gauze on Your Nose

Properly dressing a wound can mean the difference between a complicated or a quick and relatively pain-free healing process. Bandaging a nose with gauze can be tricky due to the shape of the nose, but with the proper procedure, noses can be bandaged and on their way to healing in no time.

  • Antibiotic ointment
  • Scissors
  • Gauze
  • Medical tape

      Clean the wound with an antiseptic agent or antibiotic ointment.

      Use the scissors to cut a piece of gauze from the roll. Trim the gauze so that it doesn't obstruct the eyes or nostrils and conforms to the shape of the nose.

      Apply the gauze. Be firm, but do not press down hard enough to cause pain or increase bleeding. Use multiple layers, if necessary, for complete coverage.

      Cut the medical tape to the appropriate size so that it will hold the gauze in place on the nose without obstructing the eyes or nostrils. Secure the gauze with medical tape
