Contact the organization you wish to utilize to become a first aid trainer. Find out if the organization you choose has first aid trainer courses available in your area and that it will be available at a date and time that work for you. Also, be sure to ask about any fees that you will be required to pay, as this varies greatly from one organization to another.

Pay all fees and review all materials that are provided. It is important that you pay all fees so that you can quickly receive all of the study materials. Once you have the materials, look over them so that you are fully prepared to take all written exams and participate fully in all practical demonstrations or exams.

Participate in all required courses. Most organizations require you to first attain student level first aid certification before participating in the trainer course. Complete, with a passing score, all required courses for both student and trainer level. Most courses will demand that you not only take and pass a written exam, but that you also at least participate in practical experience. Some organizations will grade the practical experience, while others simply require that you participate actively in the experience.
