Instructions

    • 1

Put your cherries in a strainer under cold running water for about two minutes, shaking the strainer to ensure that they all get washed.

    • 2

Hold a cherry with the stem facing up. Grab the stem at the base with your other hand and gently yank it out to leave a clean stemless dent atop your cherry. If you notice any small bits of remaining stem, pick them out with the tip of a knife.

    • 3

Push a straw through the dent where the stem was removed while holding the cherry in your other hand. When you feel resistance you've reached the pit. Apply firm pressure to the straw and push the pit out of the other end of the cherry.

Repeat steps two and three with your remaining cherries.
