How to Clean Power Ultrasound Meat Processing Equipment
Modern meat processors use ultrasound devices to tenderize meat, prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and crystallize fats. In keeping with proper food sanitation technique, the commercial-grade powered ultrasound processor must undergo thorough cleaning prior to each use. Equipment operators must take careful precaution when handling both the equipment and the biological product resulting from the ultrasound process. The use of proper protective equipment combined with the application of a detergent or cleaning agent remains paramount for equipment operators and meat processors alike.Things You'll Need

1
Don protective equipment. Put on protective gloves, anti-splash eyewear, head cover and a protective gown or apron prior to operating the ultrasound meat processor or cleaning equipment.
-
2
Unplug the ultrasound processor. Before cleaning, unplug the ultrasound device to prevent electrical hazard or accidental injury. Depending on the style and make of the processor, disassemble the processor before attempting to clean.
-
3
Remove gross meat product. Although the ultrasound equipment removes gross meat product and contaminants from accumulating due to the use of vibration, physically remove meat particles and contaminants using a scraping device, cloth or pressurized water spray. In addition, thoroughly clean the item by attending to crevices and hollowed areas.

4
Apply a detergent. Apply a commercial-grade detergent developed to eliminate gram negative bacteria. Mix the detergent with water and thoroughly hand scrub the equipment using a nonabrasive brush. In addition, use pressurized water to remove the detergent prior to further use.
