How to Remove Alkaline & Acid From Drinking Water

Water is essential for life. The water that comes out of the faucet is usually neutral, halfway between acidic and alkaline. Acidic water helps to kill bacteria and other microorganisms. Alkaline water is more comparable to the pH level of the water in the human body. The best way to remove acid or alkaline from the drinking water is a relatively simple process when using an ionizer.

Attach a water ionizer to the faucet. There are many commercial ionizers on the market that can be connected to a home faucet in the kitchen. Ionizers filter the water.

    • 2

Turn the faucet on. The water passes through the ionizer where a silver-activated charcoal filter removes impurities. The water then enters the electrolytic chamber. In this chamber the water passes over positively charged electrons. This is the ionization of the water. The ionizer affects the pH balance of the water and separates the water into two different streams. One stream is acidic and the other is alkaline. The ionizer removes both acid and alkaline from the water.

Place one container under each stream to collect the water. You now have one container of filtered acidic water and one container of filtered alkaline.

Drink the container of your choice. Doctors disagree about the benefit of acidic water and the benefits of alkaline water.
