How to Use CHI Volumizer
A CHI Volumizer is a hair-flattening iron that uses heat and its slim shape to add volume to segments of your hair. Knowing how to use a CHI Volumizer gives you the ability to create sleek and voluminous styles that can be worn both casually and formally. It doesn't take a cosmetologist to know how to use a CHI Volumizer, and with practice you can fool people into believing you got your hair done at a salon.Things You'll Need
- Spray bottle of water
- CHI Volumizer
- Hair pick
- Hair gloss spray

1
Spritz your hair lightly with the water; spray just enough to slightly dampen it, not to saturate it. The small amount of moisture will lend to the straightening action of the CHI iron.
-
2
Use the hair pick to detangle your hair. Separate it into several small sections with the pick.
-
3
Hold each section of hair upward and slide it between the opened clamps of the CHI tool. Clamp the hair between the tool's opening and slide it firmly from the roots of your hair up to the ends. Doing this in an upright direction adds to the volume of your hair while you straighten it.
-
4
Repeat Step 3 with all sections of your hair. When you reach the sides of your head, pull the hair sections outward to either side instead of upward; this provides variant texture in the volume of your hair.
-
5
Spray a fine mist of the hair gloss over the surface of your hair. Spray hair gloss is ordinarily used to "set" your hair after it has been ironed straight.
Use the hair pick to lift your roots slightly if you want added volume.
