How to Reduce Anaerobic Sulfates
Instructions
-
Avoiding Contaminated Water
-
1
Keep a supply of bottled drinking water in your garage, basement or pantry in the event of an emergency. Use filtered or distilled bottled water that doesn't have sulfate contamination.
-
2
Purchase large jugs of drinking water and keep them in your refrigerator for daily use.
-
3
Use store-bought water even when cooking or brewing tea or coffee, as you cannot always boil sulfates out of the water.
Treating Contaminated Water
-
4
Purchase a filtration system for home use. Reverse Osmosis systems, such as the APEC Drinking Water System linked below, are well-known filtration options.
-
5
Install your filtration system according to the manufacturer's instructions, or hire a professional to install it. Some manufacturers may offer installation with purchase.
-
6
Test your water frequently to ensure that the filtration system is working. Replace your filters according to manufacturer's instructions. The APEC Drinking Water System requires a yearly filter replacement.
-
7
Use your filtered tap water for drinking, cooking and brewing coffee or tea.
