How to Find Fully Inspected Meat Processors in Ohio
Meat processors in Ohio must be inspected annually by the Ohio Department of Agriculture's Meat Inspection Division and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service. The state license must be renewed by March 31 each year to receive "fully Inspected status," the standard for commercial meat processors. Federal inspections make sure companies are in compliance with the Federal Meat Inspection Act's regulations on handling, packaging and sanitation. The easiest way to find a fully inspected meat processor in Ohio is through the Ohio Association of Meat Processors website because proof of inspection is required for membership.Instructions
