How to Donate Your Body to a Medical School
As long as you have no contagious diseases and are not obese, you can donate your body to a medical school to be used upon your death for medical training or research. Before making the decision to donate your body, however, you should discuss the pros and cons with your immediate family; they are responsible for notifying the school of your demise and will not be able to have your body for a funeral or to bury in your family's burial plot.Instructions

1
Locate a university to donate your body. The vast majority of medical schools do not accept donated bodies from out of state, so you need to choose a school in the state where you reside.
-
2
Contact the university's donor body, or willed body program to acquire the appropriate form to fill out to become a donor. Some schools provide the form on their website. Others will mail or fax the form to you.
-
3
Complete the information required on the donor body forms, which includes information such as your name, date of birth and address. Most universities require you to sign the donor form in the presence of a notary or two witnesses.
-
4
Deliver or mail your donor form to your chosen university's medical school. Provide the contact information of the school to your family so they can contact the university in the event of your death.
