    • Acrivastine is a prescription drug which is classified as an antihistamine. Acrivastine treats watery eyes, itching, sneezing and runny nose. Often combined with the decongestant pseudoephedrine, acrivastine also helps to treat stuffy nose caused by enlarged blood vessels in the nose. This combination drug effectively treats the symptoms of allergies and the common cold.

    • Acrivastine may cause the following common side effects: nervousness, dry mouth, mild insomnia, sore throat, headache, dizziness, and drowsiness.     • According to Drugs.com, there are a small number of severe side effects caused by acrivastine including fast heartbeat, pounding in the chest and the chance of serious allergic reaction.     Usage

    • Always use acrivastine exactly as prescribed to you by your doctor. Although acrivastine may be taken with or without food, be sure to always swallow the medication whole to avoid an inappropriate release of the drug.
