How to Use a Spleen Guard

Some medical conditions can leave your spleen weakened or enlarged. The spleen, located on the left side of the body under the diaphragm, is necessary for good health. The spleen contains a reserve of blood and will release it if your body becomes injured and blood loss occurs. The spleen also helps eradicate old red blood cells from your body. Having an enlarged or weakened spleen does not mean that you no longer can participate in events where it might be damaged. If you are involved in events where protection is necessary, consider a spleen guard, which puts a layer of hard plastic between the outside world and your spleen.
