Instructions

-
1
Stand and make yourself look bigger by putting a child on your shoulders or raising your arms over your head. Hold your jacket over your head.
-
2
Show aggression to a wildcat by looking the animal in the eyes and making snarling noises, yelling or even baring your teeth. Don't look a bear in the eyes.
-
3
Back away slowly. Never turn and try to run away. These animals are faster than humans.
-
4
Avert an attack by yielding a stick or throwing a rock. Never bend down to pick one up or turn your back on the animal.
-
5
Lie face-down on the ground or in the fetal position to minimize damage in an attack. Cover your head and the back of your neck with your arms and hands. Leave a backpack on to protect your back.
-
6
Defend yourself by yelling and aiming for the eyes or nose with your thumbs, fingers, fists or weapon.
