1
Wash every area and object that the mites are found in. This includes clothes, bedding, furniture and bodies if the mites are found on a person or an animal. Regular washing will be necessary to get all of the mites out of fabrics and off of skin. Clothes should be washed at least twice a week, bedding once a week and bodies at least once daily. Showering twice is preferable for mite control and elimination.

2
Clean all of your surfaces vigorously. Counter tops, tile floors, appliances and anywhere that you might have dust, crumbs, water or anything else that the mites could use for sustenance needs to be disinfected and cleaned harshly. This will make the environment less hospitable to mites, and it will kill off those that are disinfected and wiped up with the cleaning chemicals.

3
De-humidify the area. Mites use their skin to transfer water, and if a mite lives in an area with consistently less than 50 percent humidity, that will cause adverse effects on the mite. If the humidity is kept down for several weeks, it will greatly increase the death among the mite population because it will be too dry for them to survive.

4
Vacuum regularly. Mites are small, and they can be sucked up into your vacuum cleaner easily. Carpets and furniture should be regularly vacuumed, and they should be shampooed occasionally for a deep clean. The vacuum bags should be emptied away from the house. It will stop any mites from escaping back into the environment.
