The American Psychological Association takes complaints against it's members very seriously. Although mental health professionals may be licensed by individual state medical boards, complaints to the APA are directed to the national organization.

      Familiarize yourself with the APA's "Ethical Principles Of Psychologists And Code Of Conduct" and the "APA Ethical Committee Rules And Procedures." Both can be found online at apa.org.

      Draft a letter to the APA which includes the name and state of the psychologist, your name and mailing address, a one-line statement that you are interested in filing a complaint and a description of the behavior which you wish to complain about.
