Charity walks are group walks to raise money for different charities. Many charity organizations have annual walks to raise money for their causes. Charity walk participants walk a set distance or route and typically have sponsors who agree to give a specific amount to the charity for the participant they are sponsoring.-
March for Babies

March for Babies is a charity walk for the March of Dimes Foundation. This charity walk raises money for various programs regarding the health of babies, particularly those who are premature. The March of Dimes also devotes money to helping mothers have full-term pregnancies. The first March for Babies took place in 1970. Since that time, walkers have helped raise roughly two billion dollars for the March of Dimes.
The American Heart Walk

The American Heart Walk is a charity walk by the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association is an organization whose charitable efforts involve the prevention and treatment of heart-related illnesses. According to the American Heart Association, the American Heart Walk is more than just a charity walk. It is a way to "promote physical activity and heart-healthy living."
Out of the Darkness Walks

Out of the Darkness Walks are walks for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention website, one person commits suicide every 15 minutes in the United States. The Out of Darkness Walks raise money for suicide prevention education and resources regarding mental health issues, as well as helping the victims of suicide -- the surviving family members.
Challenge Walk MS

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is the recipient of donations for the Challenge Walk MS walks. These walks are 50 miles long and take two or three days to complete. The goal of these walks and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to get better treatment and eventually a cure for multiple sclerosis, a crippling autoimmune disease that can severely impair quality of life.
Light the Night Walks

Light the Night Walks are fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. These walks take place in the evening and balloons light the way, hence the name. Each participant carries a red, gold or white balloon. It takes less than an hour to participate in a Light the Night Walk from start to finish. All of the proceeds go to blood cancer research and helping victims.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Making Strides against Breast Cancer are walks for victims, survivors and future victims of breast cancer. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. The walks are between 3 and 5 miles each. (Ref. 6) They help fund breast cancer research.
