How to Calculate Optimum Weight
Formulas for calculating your optimal weight are usually based on your height. One of the most popular methods is called the BMI or body mass index, which is used the World Health Organization as a standard for optimal weight. Determine your height, if you don't already know it. Make sure to remove your footwear. Have someone else use the tape measure.

Calculate your optimal weight if you are a woman. The formula for women is 100 pounds for the first 60 inches (or 5 feet.) Add 5 pounds for every additional inch.

Calculate the optimal weight for a man. The formula is 106 pounds for the first 5 feet (60 inches.) Add 6 pounds for every additional inch.
