Waste Water Problems
Water that has been utilized to some capacity is referred to as wastewater. Problems associated with wastewater range from inadequate water supply to unsafe water that poses health problems. Wastewater strays into water channels destroying life forms and distorting water systems. Liquid sewage is the most common form of domestic wastewater. There are no set solutions to solving wastewater problems.-
Pollution Problems
-
Wastewater is often disposed of into rivers and streams. Through direct discharge, water systems are contaminated by solvents or domestic effluents. Pollution by wastewater is difficult to counter since water is contaminated rapidly.
Water Scarcity
-
Wastewater pollutes a large segment of water consumed by both humans and other living creatures. Pollution of water intended for human consumption leads to water scarcity both for domestic and industrial use as most of the water is unfit for human consumption. This often forces authorities charged with water management to resort to water rationing measures. Water scarcity and rationing is much more evident in the developing nations.
Health Problems
-
Wastewater has a great content of dissolved or suspended organic and inorganic substances. These substances are potentially harmful to human health if consumed. If wastewater is released into naturally flowing water systems, diseases like cholera and diarrhoea are likely to be experienced.
