Headrest Problems

A car's headrest is probably the least considered factor when people buy cars, yet its significance should not be overlooked. An unsuitable headrest can cause irritation that can lead to back and neck pain.

Level

• A common headrest problem is if it does not hold the level you set it to. It either becomes too loose to maneuver or too tight to be adjusted to the appropriate level.

Removal

• Inability to remove headrests is another common problem car owners have, especially when they want to replace the covers on the headrest or simply modify the headrest to something more comfortable or appropriate.

Positioning

• Some car models have a headrest system that moves the headrest forward, causing a very unnatural and uncomfortable position for the driver. Attempts to recline the seat to avoid the headrest only introduce the problem of lacking back support.

Speakers

• Problems with headrest speakers are a common occurrence in cars that have speakers attached to the headrest. They are not long lasting and have frequent problems with volume control.
