Illinois Medicaid Income Requirements
Medicaid is a program that helps low-income people and families get the health care services they need. To be eligible for this program, however, you and the rest of the people in your household must meet certain income guidelines. The state-run program differs from state to state, and in Illinois it is called FamilyCare.-
FamilyCare Overview

FamilyCare in Illinois helps low-income families get medical care at a much lower cost. The program does have a small cost of $2 and $3 co-pays. It also offers different levels of aid: Assist, Share, Premium and Rebate. FamilyCare Assist is for those who have no to little income and need help finding medical care. People enrolled in FamilyCare Premium have a small income and may pay a monthly fee of $15 to $40, depending on the number of people in your family. If you have health insurance but still meet FamilyCare's income requirements, you may have a choice of Share, Premium or Rebate. Rebate can help pay your insurance premiums, while Share and Premium will cover services your insurance does not cover.
