Types of Sanitary Fittings

Thanks to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) there are guidelines to ensure that companies involved in the food, beverage and drug industry produce their goods in sterile environments. One of the tools used in their processes is sanitary fittings. Sanitary fittings are designed to connect tubing of industrial companies dealing with food, drugs and beverages. These fittings must pass FDA requirements to ensure they are free from contamination. Sanitary fittings are manufactured with intended applications where sanitation is required.

  1. Sanitary Fitting Caps

    • For sanitary applications in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology industries, a sanitary fitting cap is utilized.     Sanitary Clamp Fittings

    • The term sanitary clamp fitting refers to sanitary couplings and fittings joined together by a clamp. The sanitary fittings have a flat round face with an outer channel built to specific dimensions; the outer channel holds a sanitary gasket that provides a secure and sanitary seal where the two fittings are joined. Sanitary clamp fittings are usually made from stainless steel, but are also available in other materials such as plastic, nylon and in some instances are hygienically coated with gold.. Sanitary clamp fittings are used in different applications and come in different styles and sizes depending on how the clamp will be used.
