Health Care Advocacy Grants
Access to adequate health care for all individual is the concern of health care advocates, but funding these efforts is difficult. Through grants received from health care advocacy foundations, advocates are provided with funds to help in their endeavors.-
Northwest Health Foundation

Helping the community access help is key. The Northwest Health Foundation accepts proposals for grant money every year, in which the organizations applying provide a detailed plan of innovative ways to provide health care. The mission of the foundation is to "close the health care gap" and provide adequate health care to all through granting money for various grassroots efforts, as well as to organizations that aim to increase health care access.

Nathan Cummings Foundation

Advocates speak out on reform. The Nathan Cummings Foundation supports a variety of social efforts including awarding annual health care advocacy grants. The focus of these grants is on increasing health care access to all Americans, increasing the number of heath care advocates and creating sustainable changes through health care reform. To apply for a grant a letter of inquiry must be submitted and the foundation will invite selected projects to apply.

California Endowment

Teaching health habits is important. The California Endowment is a health care advocacy grant program designed specifically to benefit Californians. They aim to increase access to health care for all Californians, close gaps in access to coverage and create healthy habits in children. To apply, review "the 4 Big Results and 10 Outcomes as well as the Message to Grant Seekers" and send a letter of inquiry to the foundation.

Public Welfare Foundation

Proper care leads to a healthier life. The Public Welfare Foundation believes that through educating consumers and training advocates at the state and local levels every American can have proper access to needed health care. To promote this idea, the Public Welfare Foundation lists over 100 available grants. They accept letters of inquiry only through their online process at publicwelfare.org and will invite projects that fit their goals. They do not fund projects they have not invited.

Health education leads to healthy choices. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation provides grants in seven areas related to health care advocacy. They list a call of proposals and will accept some unsolicited proposals in certain areas. Every proposal submitted needs to be specific and have measurable results.
