Is a rolled ancle like broken ancle?
A rolled ankle, also known as an ankle sprain, is not the same as a broken ankle. A rolled ankle occurs when the ligaments that support the ankle are stretched or torn, while a broken ankle occurs when one or more of the bones in the ankle are fractured.
Rolled ankles are typically less serious than broken ankles and can usually be treated with rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE). In some cases, physical therapy may be necessary to help strengthen the ankle and prevent future sprains.
Broken ankles, on the other hand, are more serious and require medical treatment. Treatment for a broken ankle may include splinting, casting, or surgery, depending on the severity of the fracture. Broken ankles can take several weeks or months to heal completely.
In general, it is important to see a doctor if you have rolled or broken your ankle to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
