How to Fill Eddie Bauer Butane Lighters

Butane lighters burn butane gas to produce a flame. For safety reasons, however, these lighters come packaged without butane in them. This means a purchaser of a butane lighter must fill their lighter prior to use, and the Eddie Bauer brand of butane lighters is no different. Luckily, filling an Eddie Bauer brand butane lighter prior to its first use or after it has run out of gas is an easy process that can be done in a few simple steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Use your Phillips-head screwdriver to twist the flame gauge on the bottom of the lighter to its lowest position.

    • 2

Push the filling valve in with your screwdriver until you hear the sound of gas being released. Hold the filling valve down until the sound stops.

    • 3

Shake the butane refill can. Hold your lighter upside-down and insert the stem on the refill can into the filling valve. Allow your lighter to fill for about five seconds.

    • 4

Look through the butane level window on the front of your lighter. Check to make sure the lighter is full of butane. Allow the butane inside of your lighter to reach room temperature before you attempt to light it.

    • 5

Turn the flame gauge back to your desired position.

    • 6

Ignite your lighter. If your lighter does not ignite, repeat the filling process.
