How to Make a Bottle Pipe

If you want to smoke but don't have a smoking device readily available, you can make one from various household objects. One of the most popular homemade pipes is a bottle pipe. You can use either a water or soda bottle to make the pipe and the construction is easy and only takes a few minutes to complete.

Things You'll Need

• Empty plastic water or soda bottle
• Steak knife
• Aluminum foil
• Thumb tack
• Tobacco of your choice
• Lighter

  Discard the plastic bottle's cap. Rinse the bottle out and let dry completely.

  Use a steak knife to carefully make a small hole, about 3 mm wide, slightly above the midline of the plastic bottle. This will be the mouth hole. Make another very small hole wherever you are comfortable resting your thumb when your mouth is over the mouth hole. This is the "carb" where you will place your finger to control the amount of tobacco smoke that you inhale.

  Wrap aluminum foil that is 2 inches square around the top of the plastic bottle where the cap used to be. Use your finger to create a bowl that swoops into the top of the bottle. Poke numerous tiny holes in the bowl with a thumb tack, being careful not to tear the foil.

  Pack the bowl with a tobacco of your choice and use a lighter to ignite it.
