How to Read With Progressive Lenses
Progressive lenses allow the wearer to see clearly at varying distances based on the angle in which he looks through the lenses. This attribute makes it easier for people with multiple vision deficiencies to wear a single pair of glasses. Reading while using progressive lenses can take a while to get used to, as they have no intermediate line as in the case of bifocals and trifocals.Instructions

1
Estimate the distance between you and the word you are trying to read.
-
2
Read the word. If the distance is far, like a sign on the side of the road, look through the top of the lens. If the distance is intermediate, like a drive-through menu at a fast food restaurant, look through the middle of the lens. If the distance is short, like a book or flyer, look through the bottom of the lens.

3
Practice moving your head as you read, instead of your eyes. Your head should move when a word reaches the edge of your lenses. Viewing through the edge of progressive lenses can cause things to blur. This may take a while to get used to.
