Apply Carefully
-
1
Clean the windows of your car completely. If years of residue have built up on them, consider beginning with a detergent to ensure an utterly flat surface.
-
2
Apply the repellent carefully and evenly, per the manufacturer's instructions. Different manufacturers recommend different materials for application, so be sure you use the proper equipment.
-
3
Apply to the mirrors, as well. The results for your lateral view can be outstanding.
-
4
Give the treatment at least 24 hours to set and dry. If you see any signs of streaking or rippling, remove the treatments and use greater care when you reapply.
Hit the Road

5
Drive as you normally would in the rain. You should find that the windows of your car clear more readily and evenly than they otherwise would.
-
6
Clean major residue such as mud and oil off the windows if material splashes up onto your car. Doing so can extend the life of the repellent, helping it maintain a tighter bond with the glass.
-
7
Consider applying a treatment to the windshield if you have ongoing problems with visibility. Discontinue use immediately, however, if you find that misting and streaking result with each pass of the windshield wipers.
