When can you refuse unsafe work?
Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSH Act), employees have the right to refuse to perform work when they believe that the work pose an imminent danger of death or serious physical harm to themselves or to others. Employees must immediately report this condition to their supervisor or employer, and the refused work must cease and remain ceased until it can be ascertained by both the employer and the employee that all dangers have been removed.
