Does the health and safety act set maximum temperature in which workers may work?

The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 does not set a maximum temperature in which workers may work. However, the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require employers to provide a workplace that is, so far as reasonably practicable, safe for people there. This includes ensuring that the temperature in the workplace is "reasonable". What is reasonable will depend on the circumstances, including the nature of the work, the time of year, and the individual worker's needs.
