Safety goggles are a must when dealing with acid spills. Alert those around the area to stay clear. Put on safety goggles, a rubber safety apron and rubber gloves. Open windows, or otherwise ventilate the area.
-
2
Cover the acid spill with dry limestone powder to absorb and neutralize the acid.
-
3
Sweep the acid/limestone mixture into the dust pan and seal it in a plastic trash bag, along with all cleaning tools and articles of clothing that came into contact with the acid.
-
4
Protect the planet by disposing of your acid properly. Contact your local branch of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to determine if and how to dispose of the acid mixture as hazardous waste.
