Miller Welders Safety Rules
According to the company, Miller has grown from a single person operation in 1929 to the world's largest manufacturer of arc welders and cutters. The safety rules for Miller welders are largely the same as for any other similar welder.-
Preparation
-
Only individuals who have had suitable training in welding should attempt to use welders unsupervised. Even trained welders should read the instructions and any warnings that come with a particular welder, including instructions related to specific projects and materials.
Gear
-
When using an arc welder appropriate safety gear should be worn. This includes face masks or goggles and hard hats as well as gloves. Other safety gear such as smocks or ear guards may be needed depending on the situation.
Environment
-
All welding should be done in a well-ventilated area. If work is to be done on, or near, electrical equipment, make sure the equipment is turned off and, if possible, cut the power supply. Precautions should also be taken to avoid flammable or combustible material.
