Use of N95 Respirator

• N95 Respirators can only be used once. They are constructed of fibrous material that filters dust particles out of the air to prevent them from entering the lungs. Reasons to Discard the N95 Respirator

• Discard the respirator if it is torn or cut. Also look to see if there are creases in the area that comes into contact with the face (the seal). Inspect the nose clip to ensure it is working properly. If the mask does not create a seal on the nose and face to prevent dust particles from entering the nostrils or if it has a cut in the material, discard the respirator.

Storage of N95

• The N95 respirator should be stored in a clean dry location to prevent the mask from becoming wet or damaged. Stack the masks carefully to prevent cuts or creases from forming on the mask. The mask can be stored under these conditions until it is used and will not expire if the mask does not become damaged, wet or dirty.
