Information on MSA SCBA

The MSA Fire Company is a developer and manufacturer of equipment designed for use by firefighters and other emergency services. Included in the products manufactured by MSA are self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and Cairns fire helmets.

Types

• The SCBA products manufactured by MSA include the Fire Hawk M7 air mask and responder air mask. MSA also produces the Air Hawk II air mask and the Blackhawk tactical air mask. All MSA SCBA products are manufactured at the company's plant in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.

Standards

• SCBA products are developed to meet the standards produced by regulatory groups such as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). For example, the Fire Hawk M7 air mask is designed to exceed the NFPA 2007 standards.

Maintenance

• MSA offers training and certification in the repair and maintenance of SCBA equipment to organizations under its certified air mask repair certification course. Upon completing the training course an organization becomes certified as a MSA air and maintenance center, allowing technicians to work on SCBA equipment to MSA standards.
