Operating Engineers Health & Welfare

Operating engineers include all operators of heavy machinery. There are a number of health and welfare funds set up by workers unions offering various benefits to operating engineers.

    • Common benefits offered by health and welfare funds include medical, surgery, dental, maternity, vision care, life, accidental death and disability. Depending on the plan, many services may not be covered, including injury or sickness incurred on the job, medical services for family members, cosmetic surgery and non-FDA approved medications.
