Methods of Training

• Coastal gives employers choices in the way workers receive OSHA safety training. The company provides classroom teaching materials for a qualified safety professional or supervisor to teach. E-Learning is available through online classes that can be customized to fit the needs of the entire work crew or individual workers. OSHA Safety Training Topics

• OSHA safety training typically falls into two categories. General safety for most types of workplaces involves topics such as fire or disaster emergency training, electrical safety, ergonomics and personal protective equipment. Construction safety covers some general workplace topics, as well as specifics such as heavy equipment, confined spaces, fall hazards and many others.

Toolbox/Tailgate Safety Training

• Coastal offers a large selection of eight-minute videos to use for short training sessions. Short safety meetings, often called tailgate or toolbox safety meetings, can be presented to workers in the form of videos that show visual examples of safety issues, in place of or in addition to printed safety topic handout sheets.
