According to a 2010 study done for the Public Welfare Foundation in Washington, D.C., more than 85 percent of workers consider workplace safety more important than any other labor condition, including maternity leave, overtime pay, or minimum wage. Employers and employees can find many articles on workplace health and safety posted online.
  1. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

    • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) includes articles relating to workplace health and safety on the front page of its website. Articles deal with workplace hazards, illnesses and injuries in the workplace and prevention. Articles are easy to find and prominently displayed.

    Occupational Health and Safety

    • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) also displays a selection of articles prominently on their website. Some titles include "Assessing the Hidden Problem of Medical Waste Disposal," "The Dermatitis Detective: Tracking the Causes of Dermatitis in Your Workplace" and "Six Degrees of Hand Vibration." OHS also has a digital edition of their print magazine which can be downloaded. Registration is required, but registration and download are free.

    Workplace Group

    • The Workplace Group is an association of companies that want to help employers provide an acceptable work environment while complying with local, state and federal regulations regarding health and safety. Articles posted on this site cover a wide range of subjects like common electrical installation violations and the proper storage and handling of combustible liquids.

    International Journal of Workplace Health Management

    • International Journal of Workplace Health Management looks at workplace health and related issues in the context of individual health, workplace culture, and physical work issues. Registration is required and articles must be purchased, but some sample articles are available online.
