Safety Rules

Some businesses must post some or all of the following safety rules: hard hats and safety glasses must be worn; long sleeve shirts must be worn; work shoes must be worn; work areas must be kept safe and clean; face shields and safety mono-goggles must be worn; and alcoholic drinks or controlled substances are not permitted. Other items required to be posted include: the OSHA poster "Safety and Health Protection on the Job" and OSHA's "200 Log or Occupational Injuries and Illnesses"--during the month of February.
First Aid

All kinds of businesses, from factories to offices, must post statements on first aid, such as: Maintain first aid stations with supplies and equipment; Check supply expiration dates monthly. Discard expired supplies; First aid personnel trained and available; and Report injuries in a timely and accurate manner.
Personal Protective Equipment

Businesses with hazardous working environments must post notifications such as the following: Hard hats to be worn; Hearing protection to be worn when needed; Eye and face protection worn when needed; Respiratory protection worn when needed; Fall protection available when needed.
Fire Protection

Businesses must not only keep fire extinguishers charged and identified, they must: post "No Smoking" signs in areas where it is prohibited or dangerous; specify flammable and combustible material storage areas; and prominently label fuel containers.
